Elaine Annie Stubblefield's Obituary
Elaine Annie Jensen Stubblefield was born on May 15, 1920 in Hubbard, Nebraska. The youngest of six children born to Danish immigrants, Jens and Karen Jensen, Elaine died in Rowlett, Texas on September 2, 2015. Garland, Texas was her home for the last 68 years. Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Merle “Stubby” Stubblefield; son, Stephen Stubblefield; and grandson, Larsen Stubblefield. She is survived by her daughter, Diana Conklin, and her husband, Wes, of San Antonio, Texas; son, Jens Stubblefield, and his wife, Sheila, of Garland, Texas; Grandchildren, Lori Conklin and Shea Blacknell of Memphis, Tennessee; Sarah Surprise and her husband, Jeffery, of Scottsdale, Arizona; Neil Stubblefield and his wife, Sherry, of Rockwall, Texas; Great-granddaughters Serena and Sahara; Nieces Faye Miles of Lake, Michigan and Karyn Canada of McKinney, Texas; Nephews Ron Oberholtzer of Show Low, Arizona and Clarence Gene Jensen of Commerce, Texas. Always a homemaker, she also worked many years outside her home at Graves Dress Shop, K-Bobs Steakhouse, and Luby’s. Elaine was quite the storyteller, never missing a detail, and she loved to people watch. Elaine was a ‘sports fan’ – football, tennis, golf, but her passion was baseball (except for the Yankees.) Family, friends, and “Old Glory” were dear to her heart. Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday, September 4, 2015 at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral Service will take place at 3:00 pm on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
