The Rogers and Johnson Families - I knew Elayna largely through Russell who absolutely adored his wife and best friend, Elayna. I knew they had such a deep friendship and that Russell respected his wife immensely - and that was all before this cancer diagnosis. How much more so after! Russell would talk about her warrior spirit, her reslience and her unwillingness to let this illness take her joy and damper her faith.
I only had the privledge of meeting Elayna once - recently in fact - at a client event in December at the Perot museum. She was even more than I imagined - effervescent, witty, funny, a little quarky, zealous for life, full of joy and so very easy to be with. I could tell she had such love for her husband, her children, her friends, her community, her church, her family.
Thinking about you all... I can't imagine the grief you are experiencing. Your family is actively part of my petitions of our great and magnificent God - that He would do the impossible for your family. That He'd comfort you and give you a tangible sense of His presence. That He'd hold your hand each day...and that you'd see it. That He would provide.
