Elbert O'Neal Robinson's Obituary
Elbert O’Neal Robinson, beloved husband, father, grandfather and trailblazing executive, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025, in Irving, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. He was 74 years old. His parents, Isaac Robinson, Sr. and Virginia Wright Robinson Jackson, and his siblings, Isaac Robinson, Jr. and Jannifer R. Bailey, preceded him in death.
Born in Monroe, LA, O’Neal was a man of unwavering faith, integrity and resilience. A proud graduate of Grambling State University. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
O’Neal’s early career led him to IBM, where he climbed the ranks to become a respected business leader, managing multi-million-dollar operating plans and leading cross-functional teams with precision and passion. His work spanned some of America’s most influential companies.
O’Neal’s career was distinguished not only by professional excellence but by an unwavering commitment to mentorship, diversity and community impact. In each role - from corporate boardrooms to academic institutions, like Wake Forest University, O’Neal broke barriers and uplifted others.
With his beloved wife Alana by his side, O’Neal lived a life filled with adventure, challenges, triumphs and purpose. Together, they raised two extraordinary sons, Robbie and Ronnie, instilling in them a strong foundation of character, education and pride. O’Neal cherished being "PaPa" to his grandchildren, Ava, Austen, Yusuf and Amir, nurturing their curiosity and
celebrating their accomplishments.
After retiring from corporate America, O’Neal and Alana founded Robinson Group Consulting, Inc. in 2005, a legacy business built on the principles of operational excellence and service. He continued to consult, advise and lead with humility and grace.
O’Neal’s life was marked by his deep love for family, his strategic mind, his steady leadership, his infectious laugh and his warm smile. Whether offering wisdom, building wealth or sharing
memories at family gatherings in Texas, Chicago or New Orleans, O’Neal remained rooted in faith and forward-thinking in vision.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Alana Ward Robinson; his sons, Robbie (D’Rita) and Ronnie (Nkoyo); his grandchildren, Ava, Austen, Yusuf, and Amir; his Godchildren Kelston Tate, Jeremy Woodard, Maggie Read and Isabella Jones; and his extended family, business partners, mentees and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of excellence, service and love.
