Elizabeth "Betty" Francis Monaghan's Obituary
Elizabeth Francis (Betty) Monaghan of Richardson Texas was born November 7, 1929 in Flint Michigan to Channing and Mary Blatchford passed away peacefully on Friday, August 13, 2021. She married George W Monaghan on May 24, 1952 in Battle Creek Michigan. George and Betty moved their family to Texas on St Patrick’s day 1968.
Betty is proceeded in death by her husband George W Monaghan, her brother Robert Blatchford, and her son George P. Monaghan.
Betty is survived by sons: Robert W Monaghan his spouse Cheryl, Patrick J Monaghan and spouse Pam, Timothy S Monaghan and spouse Nicole and John D Monaghan his spouse Tracey and her daughter Joan M Lomax and spouse Graham.
Betty was blessed with 10 grandchildren: Michelle Stilwell, Julie Harris, Melissa Howell, Brian Monaghan, Rob Monaghan, Travis Monaghan, Matthew McEwan, Holly Sharp, Mallory Zapata and Andrew Monaghan; 9 great grandchildren: Calvin Stilwell, Codi Stilwell, Claudia Stilwell, Paris Monaghan, Hailey Monaghan, Parker Monaghan, Audrey Harris, Olivia Harris and Harper Monaghan.
Betty enjoyed raising her 6 kids, watching their sports and cheering for the Rangers. She loved her church where she spent many hours volunteering in many ways: CCD principal, a member of the Women’s club, and a member of Serra club supporting and promoting the priesthood, served on the USA council of Serra of International council board and during her free time she made sure the church had beautiful flower arrangements.
