Emily Swanson
Emma Louise and my mother, Eleanor Reeder Sanders, were first cousins. Louise's mother, Nona Cross Brown and Eleanor's mother, Inez Cross Reeder were sisters. My mother and Louise spent a lot of time together growing up in Vicksburg, Mississippi. I always called Louise, "Aunt Louise" instead of cousin, because of the great difference in our ages. I knew Sumner the best. He and Aunt Louise visited us a lot in Louisiana when I was still a teenager at home. When they would come to visit they had a little dog that came with them…I can't remember the name right off…but it was Family!! Aunt Louise was always a "bight spot" in our home when she visited. So was her mother, Aunt Nona. Aunt Nona always called everyone "Sweet Thing". I was so glad to get the obituary from Richard Hardesty and I am sorry we didn't know about her passing sooner. We lost touch when she left the Nursing Home and, of course, they would not tell us any details. God Bless you all. Emily Swanson
