Emma Louise Sides' Obituary
Emma Louise Sides, known as Louise by her friends, passed away on Wednesday March 15 at the age of 98. Louise was born in Louisiana, Missouri in 1918 to Wilfred W. and Nona Cross Brown. Louise married Charles Sumner Roberts during World War II and moved to the Dallas area after the war to set up State Farm Insurance in the State of Texas. Louise survived Sumer when he passed in 1974 after 30 years of marriage. Louise then married John Sides in 1978. Louise and John thoroughly enjoyed traveling around the United States and made Kemp Texas their home. Louise then moved to the Dallas area where she continued her volunteer work with The order of the Eastern Star, Hella Fantastics, Auxiliary member of the Benevolent protective order of Elks, and Auxiliary member of the VFW. Louise is survived by her Grandchildren Victoria Roberts, Greg Point, Tracy Roberts Whiteway, Dwight point, Charles Roberts, Stephanie Point, Mike point, Chris Roberts, and Kelly Walthal. Louise has requested in lieu of flowers for donations to be made to Macular Degeneration Research. Louise’s family also requests donations be made to Fist Baptist Church Garland, or Hospice Plus. Funeral Services will be held at Restland Funeral Home, Wildwood Chapel on Wednesday, March 22 at 1230, visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service starting at 11:30 am at the Wildwood Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 12:30 pm, Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at the Restland Wildwood Chapel with visitation 1 hour prior to the service starting at 11:30 am in the Chapel.
