Dr. E. A. Sigler Jr.'s Obituary
Long time educator, Dr. E.A. Sigler Jr, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at the age of 92. Dr. Sigler grew up in Plano, Texas, where he followed his father’s career as a lifetime educator and school administrator.
After service in the U.S. Navy, E.A. worked as a chemistry teacher and coach of the Highland Park Scots basketball team while earning two Master’s degrees and a PhD. During his twenty-nine years with the HPISD he ascended from teacher and coach to vice-principle, principle, and assistant superintendent before becoming Superintendent of the Grapevine/Colleyville School District. In addition, he was an active member and leader at his church, Rotary Club, and many educator/administrator organizations.
E.A. and Sylvan, his wife of 70 years, enjoyed travelling the world and loved fishing with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Ann Sylvan Sigler, sons James Emory Sigler and Scot Harrington Sigler, and daughter Sharon Ann Johnson, their spouses and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will commence at 2:00PM on Thursday, March 21, 2024, in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Memorial Park with Pastor Mark Davenport officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Restland Memorial Park.
