Ernie Pendergrass' Obituary
Ernest “Ernie” Keith Pendergrass, age 70, of Mesquite, Texas, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Faith Presbyterian Hospice in Dallas, with his beloved family by his side.
Ernie was born on April 11, 1955, in Dallas, to the late Ernest and Mary Juanita Lambert Pendergrass. A 1973 graduate of North Mesquite High School, Ernie worked as a facilities manager and building service coordinator for Texas Instruments and UT Southwestern Medical Center. He was also a proud member of the Elks Lodge in Garland.
Ernie will best be remembered as a man everyone liked and those who knew him, loved him. He had a passion for cars, a love for hunting, and was rarely without his trademark hat and a Dr. Pepper. If you had a problem, Ernie was the person to call, and his solution would usually start with, “What you need to do is…” He was a natural jokester who loved making others laugh. A great storyteller, you always knew it was going to be a good and long one when he started with his famous intro, “To make a long story short…” He enjoyed spending time at the family lake house, where you could often find him working on small home improvement projects. Above all, Ernie cherished spending time with family, friends, and his beloved pets, Miss Bee and Teddy (aka Ted-Ro).
Ernie is survived by:
