Etaugh "Etoy" Francis' Obituary
Etaugh “Etoy” Francis
December 22, 1934 – September 3, 2025
Etaugh “Etoy” Francis passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025, in Bedford, Texas, at the age of 90. Born to Vernon and Letha Orr on December 22, 1934, Etaugh grew up in El Dorado, Arkansas, graduated high school, and met the love of her life, Thomas Francis. They married in 1956 and shared a devoted life together, while raising their daughters, Lydia and Cheryl, until his passing in 1985.
By 1970, the family made Texas their permanent home. Etaugh built a meaningful career with IBM and later with Fanning, Harper & Martinson Law Firm, where she worked diligently until her retirement in 2009 at the age of 74. Retirement, however, never slowed her down. Etaugh continued to serve her community through volunteer work at First Baptist Church in Dallas and with Involved for Life Ministries, always offering her time and heart to those in need.
Etaugh was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Francis; her parents, Vernon and Letha Orr; her sister, Emily Ruth Honeycutt; her brother, Talmadge Jerome Orr; and her son-in-law, Michael Garner.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Lydia York (Peter) and Cheryl Ann Francis Garner; her grandchildren, Mason Thomas York (Lauren), Nolan Addison York (Megan Brill), and Courtney Garner Ellis; and her great-grandchildren, Judith Olivia York, Henry Robert York, and Claire Dylan Brill-York. She also leaves behind cherished nieces Joanna Hughes and Kimberly Orr; nephews John Honeycutt and Paul Orr; and special cousins (who are more like sisters) Sue Orr Rainwater and Nancy Orr Glenn.
Serving as Pallbearers will be: Mason York, Nolan York, John Honeycutt, Paul Orr, Jason Rainwater & Luke Rainwater.
