Evelyn Ruth Spletter's Obituary
The world has lost a gentle, giving, loving soul. Lynn Spletter passed away on April 17, 2016 in Dallas, Texas. She died peacefully from natural causes at age 95. Lynn lost the love of her life, Charles Spletter, in 1995. She met Charles at Cornell College in Iowa and were married for 54 years. She worked as the secretary for the Headmistress at Hockaday School in Dallas for 15 years, was very active in PEO her whole adult life (currently, Chapter DX), volunteered at Medical City Dallas Hospital for 25 years, North Dallas Shared Ministries, and active for over 45 years at Northaven United Methodist Church in Dallas. Lynn was an avid golfer from age 9, walked the golf course carrying her bag into her early 90’s. She was also a world traveler and enjoyed learning about people all over the world. Lynn is survived by three children, Joan Mattson and husband, Charles; Rick Spletter and wife Kathy; Bob Spletter and wife Paula; seven grandchildren, Zach Spletter and wife, Allie; Kati Spletter, Justin Mattson; Kristine McDowell and husband Magnus, Chris Spletter and wife Lindsay; Nicole Spletter and fiance’ Taylor Goff; and Andrew Spletter. Memorial service will be on Saturday, April 23 at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas at 2:30 PM (Memorial Chapel) with a reception to follow. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to PEO Foundation (note on donation “Evelyn R.
