Florence was my family's "across the alley" neighbor for many, many years (most of my life) when she and Bill lived on Devonwood in Garland. My family lived on Camden. She and my mom were good friends and Florence would come over frequently to visit. They would listen to Elvis and talk about him all the time, she and mom loved sitting and listening to Elvis sing the old hymns. After my mom passed away, Florence still came over to chat with me from time to time. I can still hear her voice now, always as she got up on the bottom step of my front porch, calling out, "Liiiisaaaa, are you home?" She loved cats, particularly Stubby, the old cat she and Bill had for so long. Countless times I would stop by, when I would pass by and see her out in her front yard. She would come over to my car and the first question she would always ask me, "how are your dogs and cats?" and then, "how is your family doing?" I never saw Florence sad. Always, always happy and upbeat. Florence had a big smile and an even bigger heart. She was one of the best neighbors in our little neighborhood. Sincerely generous of nature, sweet Florence was simply a good, kind and lovely lady. She will be missed by many. My condolences to all who knew and loved this special woman, Lisa Eades and family
Florence was a beautiful person who I've gotten to know and love at First Baptist in Rowlett. Her smile and beautiful spirit will be truly missed. Anita Duncan
Ms. Florence always asked how my mom was. Telling me hurry up and get her to church so she may see my mom. Very loving Christian lady. Her hugs meant a lot to me. I love you pretty lady. Merry Christmas.
