Floyd Asa Scovel's Obituary
Born February 23, 1920 in Houston, Texas; passed away June 27, 2009 in Irving, Texas. Floyd was a veteran of the Merchant Marines, serving during World War II; he attended SMU for two years, and worked for many years as an electrical contractor. Floyd loved to fish, work in his garden, and was interested in geneology. Preceding him in death are his parents, Simeon and Donna Scovel. Survivors include his loving wife Alice Jone Scovel; daughters, Donna Brenton, Tammy Cooper, and Bennie Cornwell; and granddaughter, Amie Brenton. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 until 8:00 pm, Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Restland Funeral Home. A service will be held in Floyd’s honor at 9:30 am, Friday, July 3, 2009 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints; 1553 S. Storey Road, Irving, TX. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park, Chapel Gardens Mausoleum.
