Besides being a friend at CHS, I was fortunate to have the opportunity of renewing our friendship as neighbors in Lake Highlands. She loved the arts and we enjoyed many productions at the Dallas Theater Center and other events in the area. Although I missed our outings when she moved, I was happy for her knowing she was going to have precious time with her family and the grandchildren she loved.
She was a lovely lady and she will be in our hearts always.
Beloved auntie who became both aunt and friend. We shared every milestone of my time on this earth and I treasure each memory, cherish the humid Texas summer, the heartache, the art, the theatre, and ski lift and the mountain retreat. I treasure the childhood with all the Crocker-McCoy women and cousins. I smile when I remember the Canasta games, the Tarantula, and the coconut cake too. The tiny bags of chips, the glass table top dining table, movie marathons, and most of all, the warm smile and twinkle of her blue eyes, and steadiness I felt due to my Aunt Darnelle’s unconditional love. May her sweet, endearing soul Rest In Peace. May she know she was love and be surrounded in everlasting tranquility.
