Frances Eleanor StuartBirth Date: May 24th, 1919 Death Date: August 21st 2018Frances Eleanor Stuart, age 99 passed away peacefully on August 21, 2018 at her apartment in the Lewisville Estate Assisted Living. She was born on May 24, 1919 in Ada, Oklahoma to Arthur Talbert and Corinne Bruce Talbert.Frances is survived by her half-sister Marilyn Renick, two sons, James Winfield Stuart Jr (Pamela), Michael Gregory Stuart (Kathy), grandchildren, Jack Dean Crutchfield Jr, Michelle Rauscher, James Winfield Stuart II (Barbara), April Weand, Emily Torrez (Matt), Kayla Linton (Daniel, Jason Nix (Malina) Johnny Nix, Shante Parks and a number of (16) great grandchildren and (4) great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.Frances was preceded in death by her parents Corinne Bruce Talbert Huey and step father James J. Huey, husband Robert Franklin Stuart and daughter Frances Dean Nix, sister Thelma Faye Harrell.Frances had many wonderful friends including neighbors, church family and cancer survivors like her. She was recognized as always being very well dressed with full makeup regardless of how casual the gathering. She was often sporting something red, as that was her favorite color to wear.She never learnt to drive a car, although she tried, but she rode her bike to church and all around Lewisville.She was very proud of her Native American background, being ½ Choctaw and enjoyed going to a “PowWow”, her friend Carol Bush drove her up to several. She loved road trips in the car. Her friend Connie Bertrum also took her on trips.A dyed in the wood Redskins fan, she watched all kinds of sports on TV but her favorite show was “Walker Texas Ranger”. Lorena was another dear friend who she called her granddaughter. She came by daily checking on France and even cleaned her house. Lorena’s husband took care of her yard.At Gadabouts, the ladies group at church, she was known for her tuna salad sandwiches for our birthday luncheons. Braum’s hot fudge sundaes was her favorite treat esp. when she a Lee Dryja went out for Dr. appointments or other activates.. they always ended up at Braum’s often going through the drive thru and eating the sundaes before making it home. A good Martini was also one of her favorites.She was a war bride and followed Bob while he was in the service during WWII.She and Bob went to Cuba before Castro took over and for their 43rd wedding anniversary they took a cruise to Alaska.She loved to garden, was a wonderful seamstress and she and her friend Linda Terrell were the wallpaper queens in their day. Frances was an immaculate housekeeper and we were all sad for her after her fall, that broke her hip in March of 2018 when her house needed to be sold as she was no longer able to live alone.Her recovery from the hip replacement was spectacular. She worked hard in PT daily and did well.She was very loyal to her friends of whom there are many and was never heard to say anything bad about anyone. Always with a big smile she was loved by many.Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 25th, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at The Episcopal Church of the Annunciation in Lewisville, Texas, 602 North Orchard Lane. A reception will follow in the parish hall. The burial at Restland will be at 4pm.Funeral arrangements have been faithfully entrusted to the Restland funeral Home and Cemetery located at 13005 Greenville Avenue, at the intersection of Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243. She will be buried next to her beloved husband Robert Franklin Stuart.Frances requested that in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to her church, The Episcopal Church of the Annunciation, Lewisville, Texas
