Gail Yvonne Miller's Obituary
Gail Yvonne Miller was born March 31, 1970 to Clarence T. and Barbara A. Miller in Baltimore, Maryland. Gail moved with her parents to Plano, TX at the age of 2. The family later moved to Richardson, TX where Gail attended Springridge Elementary, Liberty Junior High, and LV Berkner High School. Gail spent those years participating in Camp Fire Girls, orchestra, choir, theater and Drill Team. After graduating from high school, Gail went on to attend Texas A&M, College Station, where she received her Bachelor’s degree and her MBA. During those years, she sang in the A&M Gospel Choir, united with a local Baptist church, and became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Some years later, Gail decided to further her education within the scope of ministry at Dallas Theological Seminary, where she received a masters degree in Christian Education. Gail was attending Dallas Baptist University in pursuit of her Doctorate Degree as well as working as a Circulation Supervisor in the DBU campus library when she was called home to be with Lord. Gail served with her family as a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Hamilton Park from her early childhood years through her high school years. She was very active in many youth organizations of the church, including the choir, the theater department, the Junior Black Academy and Junior Mission. Gail later went on to join North Dallas Community Bible Fellowship, where she eventually began working for the church, first, with the Children’s Ministry (for many years) and then on to the Christian Education Ministry. Gail loved staying active and trying new things. She enjoyed singing, dancing, spending time with family, traveling and non-stop sharing her faith and love of the Lord with those around her. Because of her enduring faith in Christ and her family’s unfailing love and support, even after the news of the cancer attack on her body, Gail remained a focused worker and supporter of ministry activities with which she had participated in the past and continued to stay connected with many of the children who had gone through the Children’s Ministry. After a 2 1/2 year battle with cancer and while showing amazing courage and strength, God called Gail home on Saturday February 10, 2018 at 4:29pm. She was loved and will be greatly missed! Gail leaves behind her mother and father – Barbara and Clarence; her younger sister -Candace; her dear nieces and nephews – Cederic, Cierra, Alexis and Jesse; her great nephew – Nathaniel; her great niece – Faith; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins and an enormous circle of friends and loved ones around the world. In lieu of flowers, we are inviting you to consider donating to her GoFundMe. Please visit www.gofundme.com/restinlovegailmiller to contribute. Those funds will be committed to help further the education and training of youth in our community. We will conclude this fundraiser and announce distribution on March 31, Gail’s birthday. Thank you. With Love, The Miller Family
