Just learned of Garry’s passing today when my family and I went to the Donut Palace. We were hoping to see Garry since we haven’t been there in a few years since we moved away from Garland.

When my son, Brandon (15), was a lot younger, we used to go to his shop to have donuts. He was such a nice man, especially to my son who was around 3-4 years old at the time. Today, we were hoping to say hello to him.

My son remembers what a nice man he was and we’re saddened to hear of his passing.

My husband Jim has been going to the doughnut shop for many years. Gary was always so kind to the bus drivers. Jim would come in for a doughnut and a diet coke and stay for 30 to 40 minutes chatting with other drivers and friends he made at the shop. Jim always took the grand children up to the shop when ever we had sleep overs with them. Gary will be missed by our family. We are very sorry to hear this new.
