Garth is survived by son, Garth Petty, Jr. and wife Ruby; son, David Petty and wife Linda; grandchildren, Deric Petty and wife Michelle, and Scott Petty; great granddaughter, Grace Ella Petty; brother, Bill Petty and wife Margie; and sister, Jean Yowell.
