Indeed, what a gentle and loving person she was. We were in Book Group together and I so enjoyed knowing her.
Dear Gary, Kathleen and her extended family,
Your dear Genevieve was so important to the development of several publications for the Christian Science Publishing Society. I and my fellow developers and writers were very fortunate to have Genevieve with us as we worked long hours to bring biblical books, cards and a Bible timeline to fruition. Her beautiful art made our words sing.
I was the most fortunate of all, because we both lived in Dallas, and I had the great pleasure to see her frequently as I gave her our team's feedback for the many beautiful illustrations she did for us. What a pleasure it was to have those lovely meetings with her. She expressed exceptional love and dedication to her work and to us as a team. It was a joy to work with such a talented, loving and gracious woman!
It was also gratifying to have this opportunity to have conversations with her about her family. I especially loved hearing stories about Kathleen, her pursuits and accomplishments. Her mother loved her so. Since I had embarked on being a vegetarian shortly before I met with Genevieve, I enjoyed tremendously the story of Kathleen becoming a vegetarian--and at such an early age. Every time I think of how she made this choice, it brings a big smile to my face. I recall Genevieve relating the visit she and her little daughter made to the grocery store when Kathleen discovered the chicken she had been eating was actually an animal. From that moment on, she decided she would not eat meat again! Here was a strong woman expressed in a very young child! Additionally, her mother expressed wonderful understanding and dedication to her daughter. If this was important to Kathleen, she would make it happen, and it changed the course of cooking in her home forever.
Genevieve was and is love itself. I am grateful for our shared understanding that life is eternal and that God's love and guidance are with Genevieve forever.

The tributes to Genevieve during her service were so apt, so perfect. I came to know and love her when we worked at Liquid Paper Corp. Our friendship continued after we both went solo--Genevieve as a designer and illustrator, I as a copywriter. She led the way, helping me find my first office space, in the same complex as her studio. What luck, what a joy! We often visited each other, sharing leads for new business and discussing the ups and downs of freelancing. (More downs than ups at first.) Genevieve also encouraged me to join the Dallas Society of Visual Communicators, which opened many doors for me. I owe so much to her for my eventual success and independent career.
As I think about my old friend, so many images and thoughts spring to mind: her beaming smile (it really was a ray of sunshine); her humor, which could be wicked but never at another's expense; her genuine interest in you and your life; and her insightful intelligence and depth of character. In other words, a role model. And that she was, although she would blush to hear it.
Genevieve was a great lady. To Gary, Kathleen and her whole family, my husband, Don, and I send you our love and sympathy.

I have so many fond memories of Geneieve. When I think of her, I see her gentle smile and hear her soft voice. I appreciate her kindness and warmth throughout my life, and she will be missed. One of the children’s books Gen illustrated, Rhymes About Fun Times, featured large in our children’s early years. All four of them really enjoyed it. Not only was it over-sized, their ‘cousins’ were the models for it! And, most importantly, their ‘Aunt’ Genevieve drew all the pictures for it. Since their last name was Meek, too, surely they were famous as well!
I saved it, along with a few other family favorites, to read to my grandchildren. Genevieve’s work-like her spirit-lives on. Her loving life and amazing talent will not be forgotten.

I first met Genevieve at Fifth Church of Christ, Scientist, Dallas, when she and her dad would attend the church services. We served together on many committees and kept up our friendship through her retirement to Granbury years. Genevieve's grace, thoughtfulness, talents, and lovingkindness are hallmarks of this dear lady. I know she continues to express her beautiful spiritual qualities since we know that Life is etermal! The world is so blessed to have Genevieve's many contributions through the years. I'll surely keep her close in my heart. I met Genevieve at Fifth Church of Christ Scientist, Dallas Texas and served with her on a number of committees. She served a 3 year term as Second Reader there and it was such a joy to hear her rich, lovely voice and inspired reading. Her artwork was sublime. What a talented, kind and beautiful woman! I’m so grateful for all the good Genevieve shared with the world! Much love and prayers to her family.
