I met George in 1990 when his sister introduced us. He was quirky and it was like spending time with my own brother.
George was funny without trying, loyal to his sports teams and loved being outdoors if he had a purpose like running.
George was loved deeply by “mama” and his care was passed down to his sister who became his protector and biggest advocate, caring for him even when he didn’t know he needed it.
I had the privilege to spend many holidays with this family and George’s favorite part of gatherings was the food. He was not one to give compliments but you were aware of his gratitude for a meal especially when it came to the desserts.
George was a handful but was generous and kind when sharing information on many topics he found interesting and informative. If you had the opportunity to spend some quiet moments and took the time to listen you could learn a lot from this opinionated but often misunderstood man.
George, I am grateful for your presence in my life even when you exasperated me, I loved you and I was proud to be along on the journey your life took. Safe travels my friend
