On Saturday, October 16, 2021 George Wendell Hollon unexpectedly passed away at his home. His wife Barbara, passed away exactly 13 months ago 9/16/20. We know they’re holding hands again! George was born June 29, 1931 to Jesse B Read Obituary
I was really shocked to hear this sad news. George hired me in April of 1985 as a staff engineer and I worked with him for several years. George was exceptional in guiding and caring for his staff. It was so pleasant to work with him, always in a good mood, positive and very professional. Everyone loved him. He was a valued colleague, an excellent mentor and a true friend. Last time I along with my wife met George after 30 years in August of 2019, he hugged us so passionately that I couldn’t hold my tears. Our prayers are with him and his family.

It would probably take 5 or 6 pages to describe my 14 years of working with George at
Haynes-Hollon & Assoc. There are so many memories.
We were both HANDS-OWN people. People had to earn our trust.
After working under George's guidance for 7 years he made me his lab manager. I had his trust and he had mine.
He just didn't give me his knowledge and teach me his skills, he taught me about people.
I'm a better person because him. I miss him so much.

When George and Barbara retired and moved to Sulphur Springs, they became quite active in the League St. Church of Christ, including mission trips to Russia and the Bahamas. They were also active in the churches in Steamboat Springs and on Kauai, where they had timeshares. They visited us while we were on missions to England and to Kona, HI. We enjoyed travel with them and many visits in their and our homes. They enjoyed table games, sharing meals, reminiscing and exploring the world's problems. We were blessed to have such dear friends who left us with many great memories.
I worked for Mr. Hollon for 7 years and although I never earned an engineering degree, I always felt a since of pride working for Haynes and Hollon. I also felt Mr. Hollon business acumen could stand with the best of them. He will certain be missed but never forgotten.
