The first Sunday I entered Faith Works Sunday School class at Compass, George greeted me with a smile like we were old friends. His faith from that day to this was an example to all. He was perhaps the sweetest man I've ever known. Well done thou good and faithful servant! Andy Ledbetter
When I first met George, what I saw and felt was a man full of unconditional love for his precious wife and Family. As I got to know him better my life was impacted by his genuine love for me and he felt like family. I will treasure all the small moments that I shared with George because I know that he was a precious gift from God. He brought joy, laughter and the best hugs into my life when I needed it the most. He will be so missed, but it brings me tremendous comfort to know that I will see him again soon.
I only met George a couple of times, but what I remember most is how he made me laugh. He had a great gift of putting people at ease with his humor. If I could pass on any one thing that I have learned about loss, it is this: in ways we do not understand, our loved one will be present in our lives forever. Your love for George and your relationship with him will never die, it will just be different. May God bless you and comfort you. I am here for you always. Callie Hawley
