George Henry Walbert Jr, 78, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday March 12. He was a friend to, and loved by, everyone who had the pleasure to meet him. Married to the love of his life, Jo Beverly, for over 57 years, he is survived by Jo, their two children, three grandchildren, and his wonderful friends and neighbors. George was a proud Graduate of the University of Oklahoma and moved to Texas for a long, successful career as a geologist in the Dallas area. His passions were his family, hunting, golf, cigars, fine whiskey, membership at Compass Christian Church, and his Savior Jesus Christ. A man filled with tremendous love, he will be missed by all. Memorial service in his honor to be held 1:00 p.m. Friday March 20 at Compass Christian Church in Colleyville, TX. Graveside service for George Walbert will be held 10:00 AM on Friday, March 20, 2015 at Restland Memorial Park. Memorial sevice for George Walbert will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 20, 2015 at Compass Christian Church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243. In lieu of flowers the family would please request donations to Alzheimers’ Association in his name.
