I sent a note to Herb Hamilton, Eloise's brother, in November, 2015. The occasion was to thank Herb for attending the funeral of my beloved wife, Elaine Allbritton Goode, who was Eloise's cousin. It read in part: "Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to attend the visitation, graveside and memorial services for Elaine. The last time we met was on another sad occasion when Eloise passed away. Eloise had a special relationship with Elaine, and she always welcomed us with a big smile and compliments when we stopped by to visit her in Richardson. Elaine and I always commented after our visits with Eloise that she seldom dwelt on her own situation but preferred to focus on her visitors. It's tragic and ironic that both these remarkable women have been taken from us." I believe the two cousins have had their reunion by now and are laughing together again the way they used to during our visits. They're enjoying a future all believers can hope for one day. But for those of us left behind who loved them both, we still miss them and continue struggling to adjust to empty lives without them. Richard W. Goode
