Gloria June Stanley "GiGi" "Aunt Glo" Perry's Obituary
Passed away August 28, 2015 at her home in Mesquite, TX. She was 82 years old. Gloria was born August 31, 1933 in Winnsboro, TX to Stella Louise Reynolds Stanley and James Thurman Stanley, the eldest of four siblings and only girl. She later met and married E.F. Perry Jr. on November 19, 1952…together they moved to Mesquite, TX to raise their two boys, Scott and Craig. Gloria loved her family and loved to travel. Proud daughter of J.T. and Stella Stanley, Gloria was raised during the Great Depression and went on to become a world traveler and lover of the arts. She loved Elvis, Las Vegas and her sons made sure she heard plenty of Beatles and Stones who she came to love. Gloria worked for Allstate until her retirement, and that gave her time to spend with family, working in her gardens and listening to Elvis. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.), and enjoyed being a Red Hat Lady. Gloria was also a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Mesquite. Gloria is survived by her sons, J. Scott Perry and wife, Kriss of Mesquite, TX and Craig Perry and wife, Kim of Royse City, TX; grandchildren, Blake, Erica, Ryan, Jessica, Rachel and Lisa; great grandson, Darrell; brothers, James, Harold and Kenneth and many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. Services will take place at 12:00 pm, Monday, August 31, 2015 at Restland Abbey Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service in the chapel.
