Gregory Hal Morris' Obituary
MORRIS, GREGORY HAL was born April 4, 1948 in Dallas, Texas and passed away on March 19, 2010. He was preceded by his parents F. Hal Morris and Edith Portman Morris. Greg grew up in Oak Cliff and graduated from Sunset High School in 1966. He was a long-time member of Rosemont Christian Church. Greg graduated from Texas Christian University with a Bachelor of Arts in history and government and was a life-long T.C.U. fan and supporter. He received his teaching certificate and a master’s degree from the University of Texas in Austin and a second master’s degree from the University of North Texas. Greg was a teacher for the Dallas Independent School District for 38 years. Teaching was his passion, and he influenced the lives of countless students throughout his years of service. Greg is survived by his sons Patrick Morris and Andrew Morris, his brother and sister-in-law Stephen and Tammy Morris, niece Emily Morris, nephew Matthew Morris, and numerous cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Restland Funeral Home’s Wildwood Chapel. Donations may be made in Greg’s memory to Texas Christian University at www.tcu.edu.
