Gwendolyn Elaine Brown's Obituary
Gwendolyn Brown was born in Moweaqua, Illinois on March 30th, 1941. Her family moved to Indiana and she attended South Bend Central high school and graduated in 1959. While attending Central she was a member of the marching band and orchestra, where she played the flute. After high school, she attended Purdue University as a scholarship student where she studied biology. Gwen had a wide variety of interests and passions. She was a great golfer, winning several tournaments in Indiana. She was a loyal Notre Dame and Dallas Cowboys football fan. She loved animals and supported several wildlife organizations. She also had a great knowledge of science and astrology. Most recently she relished studying politics and current events. She had a great deal of compassion for people. She always wanted the best for her family and friends. Over the years she gave generously to a wide range of different charities. Her main love was her family. More than anything she enjoyed spending time with her four sons and their families. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2017m 12:00 PM in The Abbey Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. The family requests donations be made in Gwen’s honor to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Restland Funeral home, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243.
