Gwendolyn Elizabeth Tiner's Obituary
Gwendolyn Elizabeth’s journey began on October 1, 1926 in Pittsburg, Texas. She spent the majority of her life in Dallas, Texas. She was a daddy’s girl, through and through. She always had such strength. Her strength was evident throughout all of her ninety three years. She was a “go getter,” a “do-it-herself-er,” and a lady who lived by this truth: “If you cannot say anything nice, do not say anything at all.” One of the best ways she knew how to share Christ’s love was to pay close attention to others’ “favorites.”Gwen met the love of her life, Lewis Guy Tiner, and married soon after. They married on December 18, 1947. They began their family right away and had two blessings whom they each loved dearly, James Michael and Cynthia Ann. Over Gwen’s lifespan, she enjoyed travel, cooking and baking, The Order of the Eastern Star, golf, bridge, water aerobics, sewing, chocolate, and tradition; most of all she enjoyed being a wife, a mother, a grandmother, and especially a great grandmother. She dearly loved all of her family and her friends, who may as well have been family. She is survived by James Michael Tiner and his wife Martha Caldwell Tiner; Cynthia Ann Tiner Johnson; Quentin Sean Johnson and his fiancée Allyson Ileen Morris; Brent Ryan Johnson and his wife Julia Denae Johnson along with their two children Jeremy Bryce and Brian James; Tey Nicholas Tiner and his wife Megan Jovita Tiner along with their two children Hudson Cashin and Brooklyn Lewis; Martha McKamy Tiner Looney and her husband Joel Taylor Looney along with their son Landry McKamy Looney; Taira Whitney Tiner Johnson Zimmerer and her husband Mark Joseph Zimmerer along with their two children Olivia Elizabeth and Poppy Eleanor; Kevin Damon Bradford and his family, Theresa Renee Grinnell and her family, Kimberly Denise Hickerson and her family, Tiffany Michelle Nichols and her family, and last but not least, her four-legged best friend Skye. She was preceded in death by her husband Lewis Guy Tiner; her father John Lawrence Tey, her mother Donnie Margaret Henderson, and her sister Bette Lou Brazeale Bebo; as well as many other loved ones she is home with, along with Jesus.
