Morton, Gwyn Hite He was born on June 18, 1927, in Sherman, Texas and passed away on October 21, 2015, in Dallas, Texas. He was preceded in death by parents, Aud and Cora Bell Morton; brother, Don and wife, Yvonne and son-in-law, Gayland Stark. Gwyn is survived by his wife of 66 years, Phyllis, his children, Christie and husband, Andy Dyer, Steve and wife, Betsy Morton, and Cathy Stark; his grandchildren are Kyle and wife, Jen Dyer, Matt and wife Rae Dyer, Kelly Morton and Emily Morton. He also leaves great grandchildren, Rogan, Trey, and Sean Dyer. Gwyn loved his work, teaching and coaching football in Seymour, Throckmorton, and Dallas. His last years working for DISD were managing Loos Aquatic Complex. He was a generous and avid supporter of the SMU football program. Service for Gwyn Morton will be held on Monday, October 26, 2015 at 2:30 PM, in The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas, 75243 Interment in Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. David’s Episcopal Church, 2022 Saturn Rd., Garland, Texas, 75041 or Doctors Without Borders.
