Wow! How wonderfully written... they describe him perfectly. I was a Sunday school student in Sister Carlson's class and admired the truth that she lived. I came in 1st place in her Bible memorization contest. The price was for the top three (i believe) winners would get to travel to Jerusalem with her and Harold. I was so excited. Who knows it may have changed my life completely. Unfortunately, my stepmother grounded me for something (probably) trivial, and I had to forfeit my prize trip. I know that Genevieve did not agree, but nothing could be done. I always loved and admired, both, Genevieve and Harold. There were truly good people... and I'm thankful that they came across my mind. I'm pleased that the had a long and blessed life, together.
Sonny was a friend of my dad and kept our horse, Snoop at their average in Urbandale... Bud Nellis. I remember many fun times at Sonny and Maryann as a young child.
Thanks for the positive memories that the entire Carlson family left with me ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I am an old church student of Harold's wife, Genevieve. I came in 1st place in a Bible memorization contest, where a few top winners were invited to Jerusalem on a historical and once-in-a-lifetime vacation with Harold & Genevieve. I WON, & was so EXCITED!
I don't remember the stupid trouble that I was grounded for, but I wasn't allowed to redeem my win and lifetime experience... I was grounded. Hmmmm. I wonder if my life would have followed a different path, had Genevieve been my grandma rather than my Sunday school teacher??? Regardless, she is still held highly in my memory, and I am thankful for her presence and time in my life ♥️ She lived her life with exceptional and grace.
Rest well... although, I anticipate that you're still going strong... AND, Harold, Genevieve is fortunate and worthy of such a gracious, giving, and steady partner in life and love. ❤️❤️
Thanks for being the positive i needed to survive.. even though there were many failures along the way, today I thought of YOU♥️♥️♥️♥️ THANK YOU

Miss grandpa very much. I'm so glad Dustin had grandpa to look up to. He really made a huge difference in his life.
