Harold Walz Secker's Obituary
A third-generation Dallasite, Harold Walz Secker passed away December 14, 2015 from cardio-pulmonary complications. Born November 2, 1931 to Harry Gottlieb Secker and Emma Zimmerman Secker, Harold was confirmed at St. Paul’s Evangelical Reformed Church. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and the University of North Texas, where he served as President of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Harold was also a member of The Talons and served in the U.S. Naval Reserve. His career in printing and real estate investments included many years with The Riverside Press and ColorMark Printing Specialists. Harold enjoyed the arts and was an accomplished painter and sculptor. His musical interests included enjoying the Dallas Symphony and the Dallas Opera, where he appeared on stage in two productions as part of the cast. Harold was a faithful member of Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Harold Walz Secker, Jr.; brothers, The Reverend Harry G. Secker, Jr. and Fred A. Secker. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Emily Bonham Secker; daughter Elizabeth Brink and her husband Tom Brink and their children Anna and Coleman; and brother Dr. Martin Secker and his wife Maisie of Fairfax, California. A private graveside service for Harold Secker will be held Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 3:00 PM. at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration, 14115 Hillcrest Road, Dallas, Texas 75254.
