Hazen Elizabeth Robson's Obituary
Hazen Elizabeth “Bootsie” Robson entered the arms of our Lord June 8, 2015 after a lengthy illness. She was born November 22, 1942 in Dallas, Texas to Michael Franklin and Hazen French Higgins. She grew up in a baseball environment, her father being a professional baseball player and manager of the Boston Red Sox. Bootsie was always a premier athlete, excelling in tennis, skiing, softball and, in later years, golf. Bootsie graduated from Highland Park High School in 1960. She received her BA degree from Texas Tech in 1964 and her Masters in Mathematics from UT Arlington in 1974. In July 1971 she married Thomas Scott Robson of Fort Wayne, IN, after a brief courtship. For the next 44 years she was a loving wife and joyous companion. They raised no children but adopted numerous cats and finally a rescued dog, Brownie. Bootsie was President of the Dallas Hunting & Fishing Club for 30 years where she was a “Jack of All Trades”, building and repairing fences and boat piers, wiring, roofing and plumbing cabins, and still finding time to raise a small herd of cattle. In her own neighborhood she was the “Miss Rx If’ for the neighbor’s mechanical and electrical problems. Bootsie could do anything. Over the years Bootsie made a multitude of friends, from her TWAGA golfing ladies to the members of the hunting and fishing club. She will be sorely missed by all. Bootsie is survived by her husband, Scott Robson, her sister Diane Dryden of Fort Worth, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2:00 p.m., at the Dallas Hunting & Fishing Club. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75238 at Restland Road.
