Dear Uncle Buck and Jung Family,
Gina and I were deeply saddened to hear of Aunty Helen's passing. We were so blessed by Aunty Helen and Uncle Buck's loving care and hospitality when we were student's at Dallas Seminary from 1974 to 1978. Buck and Helen were one of the first folks to greet us and welcome us to the Chinese Chapel on our first visit to the church. They always made us feel at home and quickly became our family away from home. It was their love and care that helped sustain us during our time in Dallas. We are so very grateful to Buck and Helen for the kindness, care and generosity they freely gave to us.
I'll never forget how they were so supportive of our youth ministry at Chinese Chapel. When we launched a Texas statewide youth retreat they stepped up and provided so many resources and words of encouragement that helped us to fulfill the mission of creating the Christian Life Retreat. They even let us use their facility to prepare meals for our youth retreats.
Aunty Helen was truly an encourager. She would always ask how we were doing. I think she could see and feel that it was hard for us to be away from home. She really became our Texas mom. She has a permanent place in our hearts.
God's promise of heaven for those who have placed their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ gives us great hope that we will see Aunty Helen again.
Uncle Buck and Jung family our prayers and thoughts are with you. We love you all. We cherish the fond memories we have of Aunty Helen. May the Lord surround you with His love and compassion.
Lovingly in Christ,
Brian and Gina Owyoung
