Mrs. Pigg taught together in Wichita Falls when my sister and I were little. She contacted me when I was teaching elementary music in Richardson in 2009, she passed away almost 2 months after our mom died. I would like to think that she and mom are drinking tea and having a good time in heaven.

I doubt that anyone will see this- especially since it’s 2021, but I believe Helen was one of my mother’s best friends. My mother- Dorothy Faye Martin Porter- still had cards and pictures of Helen and her family until the day she died in 2012. They were both in Vernon together and became lifelong friends! Mom moved to Ky with my father, but her heart was always in Texas!
Helen was my sweet and quiet Aunt. She surely reflected her maiden name, Flowers. As she was beautiful, quietly sharing her presence with all who came. About five years ago she and Uncle Gene with their daughters help, hosted the Pigg Reunion. Her memory was fading at that time….but I will never forget her comments. "There are so many here, I don't remember inviting them, but I'm sure glad they came." Positive, smiling and always so kind! Much love to Uncle Gene, Becky, Sharong and their families!
Helen and Gene have been a part of my life since their oldest daughter Becky was one of my journalism students and a Talon staffer at Richardson High in the mid 70's. Caring, gentle and always busy doing things with and for her two daughters (Becky and Sharon), Helen was involved not only in their education but also in the education of all of her students. An educator from the beginning and one of our staunchest supporters, Helen served the Richardson Retired Teachers for literally decades. Besides being a wonderful human being, she was fair-minded and reached out to others. Ironically, my friend, Carol, also a teacher, knew the family through Unity where both Gene and Helen were active members of their church. Now, we will continue to be connected not only thru Gene and the girls and their families, but also because we know Jessica and Bill and their girls, the new residence of the Pigg family home…on Cherrywood. It is a small world…and Helen made it more wonderful for many. Love, Scotty, and Carol

Helen was our daughter Dana's teacher in 3rd grade at Canyon Creek in Richardson. We appreciated all she did to make learning fun and successful for Dana. Helen was understanding, gentle, soft-spoken and always positive in all she said and did. She is indeed with the Lord. Richard and Sally Roberts
