In 2015, around October, I was facing a very difficult marital situation with my ex-husband. I visited my church and different churches looking for a word, help, or something to lift my broken heart. I arrived at the Southern Baptist Church in Grand Prairie. I met him there. He listened to me, was very compassionate, and had an open heart. He also took me to a gas station and put gas in the car I had at the time. I have never forgotten his help. Yesterday, I went to the same church hoping to see him again, to hear from him, and although it was very sad and terrible on my part, I sought help again. However, I was not as lucky. I am sad to know that his body is no longer with us. Now is when we all need him the most. I will pray for him and his family. I left even sadder that I never returned to church after his help. Perhaps my story would be different, or perhaps not, for some reason; I will never know. However, I am so grateful to have met him at that time and to have received his help. I don't have any pictures of him, but I still have a piece of paper with his handwriting on it where I keep his name and phone number: Pastor Henry Lofting (214) 354-8794.
