Homer Lee Hinton, age 88, of Plano, Texas passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2020 of natural causes.
Homer Lee Hinton was born on April 11, 1931 to M.D. Hinton and Margaret V. (Stanley) Hinton in Blue Ridge, Texas. He married Dolores Coleen Hale on April 30, 1952 in Rockwall, Texas and proudly served his nation in the US Navy where he retired as Yeoman Chief Petty Officer and then enjoyed a career as a police officer for Dallas Police Department for 22 years.
After Dolores passed away, Homer married Barbara Elaine Bonner on January 13, 1991 in Plano, Texas.
Homer Lee Hinton was preceded in death by his first wife, Dolores Coleen Hinton; son, Roy Lee Hinton; brother, William Hinton; sisters, Lorene Townsend and Juanita Chaney, grandson, Michael Lee Hinton. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Hinton; daughter, Debra Coleen Lightbourn; son, Robert Dee Hinton; step son, Robert C. Bonner; brother, MD Hinton; 6 grandchildren: Lee Hinton, Karl Hinton, Stacey Wagoner, Melissa Lightbourn, Danny Lightbourn, and Jennifer Lightbourn; 8 great grandchildren and a host of other loving family and friends.
