I am so grateful that Yeh Mama asked me to visit her September 2023. She looked so well for having Stage 4 lung cancer, that I didn't quite believe she was ill. Now I know she was very loved by her children, grandchildren and friends and love feeds and nourishes us!
During my visit, she shared stories of her growing up (I took notes and just found them!). She was hao4qi2 (curious), like her father, and she always tried to do well in everything, like him, because he was a mo2fan4fu4qin1, an exemplary model of a father. Bao1yao4 started her paper folding, and she also learned from my mom. Her doctor father said his patients tried to fix him up, and he would say, "Can't you see down at my feet pushing my daughter about?" Meaning he was doing fine as a single parent.
Have a wonderful celebration of Yeh Mama in Taiwan! Here is pic of my husband and me with her photobook above our fireplace. She is always asking Dan and me to visit. We miss her laughter and joy for living! Thank you for sharing your mom with us!
