Hubert "Buck" Summers' Obituary
Hubert Lee “Buck” Summers, age 88, of Grapevine, Texas, left this earth for his eternal home December 31, 2020. He was born May 24, 1932, in Farmers Branch, TX, to George Pleasant and Lona Myrtle (Glidewell) Summers, the sixth of seven children. He was preceded in death by his wife, Zoe Ann (Woodcock) Summers; children: Debra Louise Summers and David Lee Summers; grandson: Jared Allen Summers; brothers: William Summers and Harold Summers; and sisters: Margaret Summers, Mary Grace Green, Doris Ammons and Patsy Newton.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Summers; children: Hubert Summers of Princeton, Margaret and husband Richard Madison of Forney, and Lemuel “Buster” and wife Vickie Summers of Rockwall; stepchildren: Rinae and husband Michael Morrow of Fort Worth and Craig and wife Rebekah Fowler of Eli, Israel; grandchildren: Shawna, Shanda, Shelly, Shaina, David, Kristy, Jonathan, Jennifer, Amber, Matt, Alissa; step-grandchildren: Andrew, Cayli, Zakary, McKenzie, Devin: great-grandchildren: Isiah, Mathias, Jeramiah, Hadassah, Makayda, Sarabeth, Jayden, Ava, Sebastian, Ethan, Arianna, London, Shire, Judah, Winry, Elias; step great grandson: Darius; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many friends who knew and loved him.
Buck was married to Zoe Ann for 41 years. They shared a wonderful life until her death. Following her death, he married Ruth and they were blessed with almost 30 years of marriage. He was an Assembly of God minister and pastored Lake June Assembly of God and Glad Tidings Assembly of God, both in Dallas for many years. He loved preaching, teaching, sharing his faith and gospel music. Buck’s family was very precious to him and he loved spending time with his cherished loved ones and friends. His presence will be deeply missed by everyone who loved him. Until we meet again in heaven. A graveside service for family members will be held Friday, January 8, at Restland Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 16, at 10:00 a.m. at First Assembly of God DFW, 3800 Hwy 121, Bedford, Texas 75021.
