Seeing this picture of Anne is just how I remember her, always a smile on her face, and always a kind word to whom ever she met.. My fondest memories as a child, was visiting the family when they would visit Virginia during the summer. I realize now I must have worried them by always being there…. They were like family to me, and I will never forget her… My heart goes out to Jean, Jane, Bryan and the rest of the family… I love you all very much, and you are all in my prayers….. Miss Ida always had a smile on her face and something good to share every person she met. I met her shortly after her husband's death in early 1991. She was one of the first elderly members to welcome us to University Park University Church that first Sunday our family visited. Shortly after that, I attended my first UMW meeting and became involved in the Women's group. Every time I saw her she showed excitement and interest in anyone with whom she saw. I met her daughter, Jane and husband, Bill, in our SS Class. For years, I have enjoyed their friendship and seeing her at their yearly Christmas party where I have had the pleasure to meet many of their family members and friends. My thoughts and prayers are with you all now as you celebrate a life, fulled lived and glowing with God's grace, love, and mercy. May the Lord richly bless you and keep you in His loving hand as you are surrounded and embraced by those who love and support you as you learn to live here without her so that all good memories replace the sorrow that you now experience in grief. So sorry to hear the loss of Ann. I know each of you will have an empty spot in your lives but just remember that she is in a better place now waiting for you to join her one day.

Mrs. Yates was the BEST teacher I ever had. She was my fourth grade teacher at Dealey Elementary from 1974-1975. I went on to go to Rice University and UT Law–but Mrs. Yates was still the BEST or all of them. I've entered her name into Google occasionally, and just did today to see this obituary. I am so proud to have been taught by this amazing woman and consider much of my academic and professional success to be a part of her legacy. She will always be my favorite teacher ever.
