Irene Dickson's Obituary
Irene Marie Dickson was born in Dallas TX, on December 28, 1927 and peacefully met Our Lord on September 19, 2015. She is preceded in death by her dear husband Joe Kenneth Dickson, and sisters Mary Piccola and Minnie Grizzaffi. Survived by her son Joseph, sister Jodie Sherlock, brother Chance Miller, many loved nieces and nephews, “adopted” grandchildren, Branden, Ethan, Angela, Sarah & John and numerous friends. In her later years she was an active resident at Winters Park where she made many friends, and showed compassion to many other residents and staff. Irene was a loving wife and devoted mother living in Garland, an active member of Good Shepard Parish, Catholic Daughters of Texas and a long standing volunteer at Baylor Hospital. Irene enjoyed crochet and painting. Most of all she loved vintage movies, movie stars, the Three Stooges, dancing and especially, Making People Laugh. She will be missed dearly and when you think of Irene, it’s hard not to recall her many funny stories and animations. Irene had many people who helped with her care, as her physical health declined. We would like to recognize some of the special ones who helped Irene & Joey in so many ways like Lisa Jackson, Kay Morrow, Amelia Hamilton, Jessica Acosta, Rita Cicconi, Jodie Sherlock and David Krauser. Family will receive friends on Monday, September 21, 2015 from 6:00-8:00PM in The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 11:00AM in The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
