Iris Josephine Lowry's Obituary
Iris Josephine "Joey" Lowry was born on August 10, 1925 in Racetrack, Texas to William Columbus "Lum" Larkin and Audie Lee (Reynolds) Larkin, She was the youngest of eleven Larkin children. Her older brothers and sisters adored her, often treating her to new dresses and spoiling her with endless love and attention. Joey grew into adulthood as an outgoing, smart, loving and very beautiful young woman,
At the age of 21, Joey married Ken Lowry in Newport Beach, California. Her lifetime pal and sister, Bunny, was her Matron of Honor. Clara (Lowry) Boyle was her Maid of Honor, Residences of Colorado and Texas along with two children, William Stephan and Susan Lynn followed. Having settled in Dallas with Husband Ken, Joey immersed herself into the worlds of Real Estate and Travel. Many stories have been told of her beloved trip to England with her sister Bunny and nephew Frederick. Joey and Ken loved trips to Padre Island, Texas where they enjoyed the serenity of watching the sun set over the gulf while sipping a "cold one". They often journeyed to the Rocky Mountains creating lifetime memories and telling many stories of beautiful experiences.
Joey was always keen to visit with her family. She would never miss an opportunity to join any family gathering. Family to Joey was her life's blood as she loved each of her family members unconditionally.
Joey would want each of us to fill our hearts with love, understanding, forgiveness and fellowship. For Joey, remarkable insight came through her faith and the gift of living many years with the people she cared about most in this world.
