Irma Nell Dodd's Obituary
Irma Nell Dodd, of Garland, Texas, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026, at the age of 85. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and wonderful friend to all that knew and loved her.
She was born on October 22, 1940 in Sulphur Bluff, Texas, to Ona Clytie and Noah Woodford Skaggs. She was married to John Truman Dodd in August of 1955.
She was a devotes housewife who lovingly cared for her grandchildren and many other children as well. Family was at the center of her life, and she gave her time and heart freely to those around her. She found great joy in her flowers and spent countless hours working in the yard alongside her husband, John. Through her care, patience, and love of home, she created a place where others always felt welcome.
Irma is preceded in death by her husband: John Truman Dodd; daughter: Janice Cezar; parents: Ona and Noah Skaggs; brother: Woodford Loranzo Skaggs; and sisters: Ollie Ruth Patterson and Betty Jean Goodman.
She is survived by her sons: David Dodd and Darren Dodd (Lisa); son-in-law: Mark Cezar; grandchildren: Kristie, Jason, Chad, and Dillon; great-grandchildren: Ryan, Riley, Haileigh, Krystal, and Aubrey; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and her sister: Alice Evyonne Smith.
The visitation will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at Restland Funeral Home from 12:00 to 2:00pm, followed by the Graveside Service in Restland Cemetery (Court of Veterans II) at 2:00pm.
