Jim was my father in law and he I will miss him dearly. He was such a happy man full of enthusiasm for life, his family, friends and co workers. And what a generous and devoted Dad, Uncle, Grandfather, Friend, Mentor & Worker. You cant get much better than Jim. We were very fortunate to have him visit us in June of this year. Jim was my first boss and mentor at Weaver 9 years ago. What a blessing! My first memories of him were he cared about teaching us, his warmth, and of course his sense of humor and laugh. He made it a point to know everyone he worked with no matter the age or level in the firm and always treated everyone equally with respect. I already miss his daily visits by my office, and I will forever miss his smile and laugh. He will have a special place in everyone's hearts here.
In the short time I have spend sitting next to Jim at the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce, I got to know him as a friend and a mentor. Jim you will be greatly missed but I am lucky to always have your memories with me.
I am so sad to hear the news of Jim's passing. He was my accountant for almost 30 years and I will truly miss talking with him every year around tax time. I am just speechless as some people you expect to be around forever. We shared a little personal information over the years and I feel I knew him a little more each year. He had a great sense of humor. I feel went that extra mile for his clients. I will miss his nagging of me to get my data in early and of course every year we laughed about my inability to do that. Jim Dowling has been our friend and our corporate and personal accountant for 32 years. He was excellent at the work he did. With so many years experience and talent, he could size up and finish any tax related item in a very short amount of time. When talking to him in person or on the phone, his contagious, upbeat personality left you with a feel-good feeling for the rest of the day. Jim took a personal interest in our business and personal lives, and was an extended family member, attending many of our family gatherings and enjoying many dinners and concerts together over the years. I had the pleasure of working with Jim at Weaver and Tidwell for over a decade. Although we worked in different departments, I enjoyed the times we ran into each other. Jim was always so friendly, greeting everyone with a smile. You will be missed!
