We’ll always cherish the memories of our many visits to see Jim and family in Dallas and the Kendall’s visits to Seattle, as well as the fun places in between. When Joe was a kid in Midland, it was always fun when Jim visited while traveling through on business. Joe remembers enjoying the feeling that Jim talked to him more like an adult than just another teenager at the time. Joe also fondly remembers all the holidays our families enjoyed together, from Christmas’ in San Angelo to Thanksgiving (and going to Cowboy games on Thanksgiving!) in Dallas. Joe and his son Jack had a memory that will last a lifetime joining Jim and his grandson Andrew at the 2008 Longhorn-Red Raider game in Lubbock (the Crabtree catch). In our group, only Jim walked out of the stadium happy that evening, but he was quite gracious about it. Jim taught Joe all he knows about betting horses at the racetrack, Thanks to Jim’s equine wisdom, Joe thinks he has won more money than lost over the years. Our last time seeing Jim in person was in the fall of 2019, just months before the pandemic hit. It was a wonderful evening for our family to visit Becerly, Jim, and the kids and grandkids all together. With loving memories and heartfelt gratitude from the Pendleton family.
