Conversations with Rick were always easy because from Janet I already had picked up enough to ask questions about his adventures, his triumphs, and challenges.
Stories about Rick and Peanut delighted me. Born in a tree on Janet's front yard, Peanut moved forward in the world by adopting Rick. He was given residence in the sleeper on the back of Rick's truck. From there he travelled the world between Dallas and the east coast of Texas. During Peanut's lifetime Rick commuted between a teaching job on the east coast of Texas and his physical jobs on the home-front in Dallas.
I loved too hearing about (and seeing photos of) the extraordinary renovations that Rick and Janet put into the historic home near San Antonio.
Rick could talk and talk and talk and I could ask question after question.
