James (Jim) Rader was a great man. He was my grandfather, and my mom’s stepdad. I new him as Granddaddy; I don’t know where the name came from, but it brought me joy. I was given the middle name Rader, and I am proud to have it. Whenever I saw him, he would give me and my brothers a dollar coin; it was just a happy memory for both of us. Another memory I have is back when I was really young, I was out at the lake house (or at least that’s where I think I was), and he was giving me a ride on a John Deere tractor. I miss him, and I’m sure my family does as well, he will always be a part of our family.

I met Jim at his wedding to Sue. He was just so nice, funny and welcoming that I just wasn't sure about him. Being a little cynical, I remember telling Sue's brother that he was either a saint or something else. Well, not sure he made the saint status but he sure was close. I loved how much life he had in him. You could just feel the love he had for my friend, Sue, his family, friends, community and God. He was a very special man and will be missed by the many people his life touched.

Jim enjoyed archery leagues and tournaments with many friends in the late 70's/ 1980's at Bronco Family Entertainment Center with automated indoor archery target returns. He proudly honored us as being a part of the Bellows Archery family. Never will forget his excitement when he shot a "Robin Hood" arrow -(.aka an arrow shot into another one!) We have stayed in touch over the years. Deepest sympathy to his wife and family. May the Lord comfort you knowing he now has Jim in heaven with him. God bless you all. Vel

Sixty-One years ago Jim Rader came into my life and immediately became one of my best friends. There were 4 of us and we were always together. In recent years we were not that close because of my travels, but he was still my best friend. The times we spent growing up are such a blessing to me. Jim was kind, decent, loving and funny. My thoughts and prayers go to Sue, John and Monica. My life was blessed to have Jim as a best friend, I will miss him so much. – Jim Wright
