James Earl Shelton's Obituary
Was born in Garland City, Arkansas on November 12, 1934. He passed from this life surrounded by his loving family in Ft. Worth, Texas on December 23, 2010, at the age of 76. He was preceded in death by his parents Ted and Lois Shelton and by his wife Noretta Shelton. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Glover Shelton; children, Sharon Paxton and husband Bill, Cathey Dalton and husband Keith, James D. Shelton and wife Robin, Tonya Meir and husband Denny, Mary Blankinship and husband Buddy, David Glover; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; his sister, Lenitta Lansford and husband Charles; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, in-laws. James retired from SMU where he worked for 44 years in the printing department. He was a faithful member of the Church of Christ and served as a deacon at the Austin Street Church of Christ in Garland, Texas. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the caring staff of Autumn Leaves at Fossil Creek and Vitas Hospice. Visitation will be from 6-8PM on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held at 10Am on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Restland Memorial Chapel.
