I am Janet's niece. My father, Joe A Carr, Sr., is her husband John's brother. He passed away July 10, 1987. One of the first memories I have of Aunt Janet is that when I was old enough to realize her as my Aunt, I thought she was so beautiful. It never failed that each time I saw her after that, I thought the same thing. Then, when I caught her laughter, it was such a great, full and genuine cackle. Carol has that same laughter characteristic. You couldn't help but laugh with her. I appreciate the fact that Aunt Janet believed in the value of family unity and never missed an opportunity to join all of us at Carr reunions and special occasions whenever she could. Part of the reason I have such a strong belief in the strength of the family bond is due to her example before me. I also appreciate the fact that she put together our family history and sent it to each family. I value it and really am glad that she cared enough to take time and carry through with the research. Another memory is very precious to me. My dad always wanted to be sure that everyone understood the wonderful grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. So, I remember one time when he and Aunt Janet were talking, he asked her if she knew Jesus Christ was her Savior. She laughed and said very emphatically, "why sure Joe. I know Jesus is my Savior." Dad simply said, "well, good, Janet." I know that she is communing with our Lord and the many loved ones who have been waiting for her to enter Heaven. I will treasure these memories of my Aunt Janet forever. Love to all of you.
Prayers and blessings for your family and the days ahead. We remember especially Janets hospitality. As a young boy, we came to Lake Charles. She was so gracious and welcoming that our young family learned a lot about hosting family and others in our home. Later when our boys were young, Bonnie and I visited in Houston and learned it all over again. She gave us the whole upstairs and it was a revelation on how gracious people can be. His love and ours to you all, Sam and Bonnie
