Our sweet sister, Janice Alvarez, born October 21, 1950 to Colonel and Alma Blagg. She lived in Wyoming, Oklahoma, Florida and Texas and passed away January 30, 2025.
She attended school in Oklahoma where she as a member of the National Honor Society. She continued her pursuit of academic excellence graduating from Saint Gregory's College where she excelled in mathematics and science.
She enjoyed sports, football and soccer being her favorites. A passion for travel took her across the United States and Europe. Her favorite place to visit was Grand Teton National Park and surrounding areas, where we spent several of our "sister trips".
In 1970 her son Frank was born and she dedicated her life to raising him. She attended all his activities in school and sports. She loved being with him and watching him become the man he is today.
In addition to raising her son, she had a career in business and worked in several areas of endeavor - hotel, finance and legal.
Later in life her son and daughter-in-law Holly, blessed her with three wonderful grandchildren, Frankie, Olivia and Nicholas. She spent as much time with them as she could and loved playing games with them and going to their school and sports activities. They brought her such love and happiness and she loved being their Nana.
She is survived by her son Frank; Daughter-in-law Holly; her grandchildren, Frankie, Olivia and Nicholas; her sisters Judy Whitfield and Jeanne Gardner (her husband Tom); her nephews Shane Whitfield and Jarrod Gardner
