Janice Camilla Alvarez's Obituary
Janice Alvarez, 74, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2025. Janice was born in Casper, Wyoming to Colonel and Alma Blagg on October 21, 1950. Throughout her life, she lived in Wyoming,
Oklahoma, Texas and Florida.
She attended high school in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where she was a member of the National Honor Society at John Marshall High School. She continued her pursuit of academic excellence graduating from Saint Gregory's College where she excelled in mathematics and science. She also participated in the Miss Shawnee Pageant during her time at St. Gregory’s.
Janice was a loving mother and grandmother, and she was a beautiful soul who would help anyone. She loved dancing and participated in many dance competitions in her younger years. She was a voracious reader, and she was rarely seen without a book nearby. She also shared her family’s love for sports, and football, soccer and basketball were her favorites. A passion for travel took her across the United States and Europe. Her favorite place to visit was Grand Teton National Park and the surrounding areas. She had a career in business and worked in several areas, including hotels, finance and the legal profession.
Janice was a devoted mother to her son. Frank. She was blessed with three wonderful grandchildren, Frankie, Olivia and Nicholas. She spent as much time with them as she could, and she loved playing games with them and going to their many school and sports activities. They brought her such happiness, and she loved being their Nana and caring for them while she was able. Janice had a knack for remembering every birthday, anniversary, and important date in the lives of her family, never failing to send a card or make a call.
She is survived by her son Frank (Holly); her grandchildren Frankie, Olivia and Nicholas; her sisters Judy Whitfield and Jeanne Gardner (Tom); and her nephews Shane Whitfield and Jarrod Gardner.
