Mrs. Miller helped me unlock the mysteries of music starting when I was 6. She gave me piano lessons in the parsonage across the street from Kavanaugh Methodist in Greenville, TX. A few years later we moved from Greenville to Richardson and she came to our home for piano lessons for my brother and me. She gave me my first organ lessons. Thank you for sharing such a lovely lady with us. My fondest memory is your mom teaching me to accompany. She would open the Methodist hymnal to a page, plop it on the music rack, and after I gave her an intro, she would begin to sing. She might hold a note longer or cut it short or sometimes skip a few notes or repeat something she had already sung. Keeping up with her became a game. I am retired now and still accompany band students on their solos and sometimes play for church. Janice Miller was truly a blessing in my life. Alice Payn
